Dan McCurdy

Dan is the CEO of Provenance. Previously, he was a senior vice president of RPX Corporation from July 1, 2014 through December 31, 2016. From 2008 through June 2014, he was CEO of Allied Security Trust, and Chairman and CEO of PatentFreedom. In June 2014, PatentFreedom was acquired by RPX.

Previously, Dan was founding CEO of ThinkFire; President of Intellectual Property of Lucent Technologies and Bell Laboratories; a Vice President of IBM responsible for the creation of its Life Sciences business unit; a Vice President of Ciena Corporation where he directed merger, acquisition and corporate development; Director of Business Development for IBM Research; and Manager of Technology and Intellectual Property Policy for IBM worldwide. Dan remains a Principal of Quatela Lynch McCurdy which he joined on January 1, 2017. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Immersion Corporation (NASDAQ: IMMR).

Dan graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Carolina. He served on the Intellectual Property Policy committee of the United States' National Academies, in 2011 was named CEO of the Year by Intellectual Property Magazine, and in 2014 was named one of the 40 most influential "movers and shakers" in IP transactions and acquisitions by Intellectual Asset Magazine. He has been named in "IAM Strategy 300 – the World's Leading IP Strategists" every year since the annual list has been published.

Timothy Lynch

Tim is President of Provenance. Previously, Tim was Chief Intellectual Property Officer and a corporate Vice President of Eastman Kodak Company. Tim joined Kodak's Legal department in 1997, supporting merger, acquisition, joint venture and investment transactions. Beginning in 2006, Tim led the team charged with supporting intellectual property licensing, trademark and patent litigation activities. During Tim's tenure in Kodak's intellectual property organization, the company generated more than $4.0 billion in revenue from more than 40 intellectual property transactions.

Tim remains a Principal of Quatela Lynch McCurdy LLC, which he co-founded in 2014. Early in his career, Tim held positions at GE Capital and Nixon, Hargrave, Devans & Doyle (now Nixon Peabody).

Tim has been identified as one of the world's leading IP strategists by "IAM Strategy 300 – The World's Leading IP Strategists" in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Tim holds a B.A. in Communications and Political Science from St. John Fisher College and a J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Dayton School of Law.

Laura Quatela

In addition to being a member of Provenance's Board of Directors, Laura is a Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Lenovo which she joined in October 2016. She is responsible for Lenovo's overall legal strategy.

Previously, Laura served as executive vice president of intellectual property for Alcatel-Lucent SA, reporting to the CEO, and was responsible for leading the company's efforts to monetize its patent portfolio.

Prior to her role at Alcatel-Lucent, Laura was President of Eastman Kodak Company, where she held various other leadership positions including Chief Intellectual Property Officer and General Counsel, and Co-Chief Operating Officer.

Currently, Laura also serves on the board of directors of Technicolor SA, where she chairs the strategy committee and Laura is a Principal of Quatela Lynch McCurdy LLC, of which she was a co-founder in 2014.

Linda Biel

Senior Vice President

Client Development

Linda is the head of Client Development for Provenance. In this role she will develop and grow relationships with clients who wish to purchase "slices" of the litigation grade assets that Provenance holds. She will also work with companies who want to contribute their highest quality assets to Provenance’s innovative new business model.

Linda has more than 20 years of experience in high technology, specializing in business development, marketing and sales. She previously was the head of Business Development at Allied Security Trust, engaged in new member recruitment, the management of relationships with sellers of patent portfolios, and patent sales.

Prior to AST, she was a founder and Director of Customer Relations for PatentFreedom, and served in a variety of customer and partner interfacing roles as a Director at IBM, including assignments in both Asia and Europe. Linda received a M.S. magna cum laude in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University.
